Faith - A Poem
It's there I know it
at least I think I know it
I know it has grown
despite my lack of feeding it
it searchs for food
searches for nourishment
showing great resilience
taking the little it's been given
it survives
it does not recieve enough
but it gives everything
its roots are deep
growing around and through
the concrete of doubt
reaching sunlight
giving blooms of hope
beauty flowering
in the midst of weeds
at times it seems distant
even separate from me
yet I am reminded
I'm not feeding it
its feeding me

IDT - A Poem
life contained in paper charts
describing symptoms, issues, pain
family, meds, and needed aid
wrapping existence into plans for death
without emotion I listen
listen to names read from lists
listen to descriptions that don't do justice
that don't really see what is total
descriptions given with genuine care
yet can't come close to narrating a life

New Creation (a poem)
death no sting
for life is real
hope of resurrection still
new creation is the plan
for mountain, sky
and image man
all things new
redeemed to bare
preciseness of
divine care
the earth in praise
with pursuit
of Jesus Christ
the first fruit.

The Struggle to Fear - A Poem
To Fear God is to worship and obey him.
Allow him to guide the steps of my life.
Setting aside fear of the loss of control.
Fleeing from the thought of self dominance.
Facing his light, allowing it to shine on all the dark places.
Knowing that what is shown is not too dark for him.
Trusting that his love is enough.
Believing that his grace is sufficient.
I gladly fear the Lord.
